I suppose let’s start off this blog with a bit of an explanation. I haven’t blogged in over a month — I know so terrible! So I went to Paris and did some damage; don’t worry there will be a four part blog coming soon dedicated exclusively to my travels. Then after Paris, came my birthday and then before you knew it; it was already Chinese New Year! Like seriously, March is just right around the corner.
Let’s get to the palette shall we?
Today we shall explore my thoughts on this palette. If I had to summarize this palette in one word I would say that it is cute. How so you may ask?
Packaging Reveal:
The palette not only has an exterior box packaging featuring a smiling peach — but even the metal carton of the eyeshadow palette has peach embossings. More importantly, yes this palette smells like sweet peaches. It surely does remind me of those scratch and sniff sticker days!
The packaging is quite sturdy for a travel palette coming in at $26. It has a strong magnetic closure to prevent the palette from opening up in a cosmetic bag (Just in case you had a Louis Vuitton toiletry pouch as an everyday cosmetic case).
Shadows & Names:
The names of each individual shade is displayed on the top of the box – except I believe that they may have made a booboo here because the shade swatches for the brown and plum shade got switched around.
Clearly, “Plum Fun” doesn’t look so plum now does it? Haha.
Shades & Swatches:
The palette features eight individually panned eyeshadows ranging from highlight, lid colors, transitions, to deepening.
The top row featuring:
1. Peach Bum: a matte peach based cream
2. Peachy Swear: a rich peachy pink with gold metallic sheen
3. Warm & Fuzzy: a copper-based rose gold
4. Love Pit: a matte chocolate brown.
The bottom row featuring:
5. Parisian Peach: a nude peach with a gold sheen
6. Peach Spice: a matte transitional brown
7. Tickled: a peachy coral with golden shimmer
8. Plum Fun: a plum with deep berry and warm bronze shift
Pros:
- The price point is fair for a small travel size palette.
- The smell is super yummy and not particularly overbearing (this one is quite subjective though).
- This product would be wonderful as a gift, small add on to an existing gift or even as a stocking stuffer.
- The shades in the palette have a great balance of light, medium, and darker shades allowing versatility yet still providing staples for every eye look!
Cons:
- The most disappointing shade in my opinion is “Love Pit”; generally this is the type of color that I would use on my outer corners to create more depth but as you can see from the swatch — it does have quite a bit of fall out.
- The only issue I have with the packaging is that because it is in a completely metal tin and is quite thin I am not sure this will survive a torrential TSA beating — so definitely more of a carry-on item.
Overall Thoughts:
- Packaging: 4.8/5
- Pigment: 5/5
- Application: 4.8/5
- Longevity: 4.7/5
- Price: 5/5
